Since I have been traveling a lot in Greece in recent years to carry out various projects, I was able to really get to know the unique beauty of the area around Pylos. I came to this area around Kalamata for the first time at the end of 2012 to inspect a plot of land.
In 2010, the region near Pylos was woken from its slumber by the construction of two luxury hotels and two golf courses, whereby the area still appears very pristine and untouched, with dreamlike empty sandy beaches and quaint Greek villages. Another two 18-hole golf courses were opened in early 2022.
Since 2013 there have been direct flights from Vienna, Munich, London, Frankfurt, Zurich and Stockholm to Kalamata, the flight time from Vienna to Kalamata is just under 2 hours, and the flights are offered from February to November.
My friend and partner Alexander Krinner, who was born in Tyrol, studied architecture and civil engineering at the Technical University in Munich. He has been living in Greece for years, has built several houses for Austrian and German clients, especially in the northern part of the Peloponnese - Patras to Corinth - and has thus also gained a lot of experience in dealing with the Greek mentality and authorities. Together we explored the region around Pylos more closely and, after many discussions, came to the conclusion that this is a true future destination.
